November Calendar 2016

Mon 7th
HYVEE Math Blast This is for students pre-K through grade 6.  Sign up at the customer service desk at either location to get a punch card and lanyard.  Then once a week (Mon-Sun) between October 10 and November 13 (5 weeks), pick up a grade level math Challenge Form to do while walking through the store.  Have your card punched when you turn it in at the customer service desk. A Scotties Free Attraction card will be given to all who complete all five weeks.  All who participate at least one week are eligible to win a pizza and drink.  Those that participate all five weeks will be entered for a chance to win an iPod Mini (1), Kindle Fire (1), or $25 gift card (4).  Cindy Crist

Swim Lessons at the Kroc Center 10:00 – 10:45pm at the Kroc Center.  This one is for ages 7-11 at the intermediate level.  8 Weeks Oct 26thDec 14th.  Sign up at the Kroc Center.  They will create a lesson time for any group of at least four with similar abilities.  Cost is Gold $27,  Silver $31.50,  Non-Member $45.  Cindy Crist cristcindy@yahoo.com

Forest School  4:00-7:00pm.  Let's meet at 'base camp' across the bridge & make our lanterns at 4pm.  Then we can get the campfire going & enjoy our potluck dinner.  After a 15-20 minute walk (on clear gravel paths - jogging strollers will do fine), we'll head back to base camp for campfire songs & s'mores.  End time around 7/8.  We will make our own lanterns to carry with us & light the way on our lantern walk....we will collect coats & other warm clothing to be exchanged with each other or donated to shelters in the same way St. Martin shared his cloak with a beggar....bring a dish to share for a potluck dinner....bring blankets/chairs to sit on around the campfire.  Shannon Jarvis peanutsissydog@gmail.com

Hiring Event for area College and High School Students 2:00-6:00pm at JWCC.  Sponsored by JWCC and QU.  Area businesses will be present looking to hire for part-time and full-time positions.  Be prepared for on-the-spot interviews.  Bring your resume and dress in your best business casual attire.  Another event will be held this spring.  Contact Dick Tabb at JWCC for more information.  dtabb@jwcc.edu
