TEACH Open House!

Tuesday, August 15 from 630-830pm at South Park pavillion
Come visit with TEACH families and learn about group programs at our annual Kick Off. Tables will be available for individuals to share activity information, sell curriculum, and sign up for TEACh membership! We are looking forward to an evening of fellowship! A great way to spend an evening as a family!

This is now running in Nauvoo, Illinois.  Check the website for events & times!  We have never seen the pageant bc it doesn't begin til pretty late at night (for us) but we love the indoor demonstrations making rope, baking bread, spinning wool, making candles, etc. and the old fashioned county fair.  Mid-afternoon is the perfect time to go if you want to play in the children's area at the edge of the village, too - a little log cabin, schoolhouse, & games/dress-ups.

High quality art materials mean better results.  They cost more than the Wal-Mart version but they're worth it!

Freedom to choose activities within a loose structure develops decision making skills as well as problem solving. Giving children responsibility with items like hot glue gluns & knives in the kitchen (with instruction & supervision!) builds confidence & independence.
